Rosalia
Rosalia Vila aka Rosalia is the Spanish Flamenco/Pop artist. Since the age of 13 the singer has been involved in popular flamenco and music. Her music also strays into different genres such as hip-hop soul and Trap. Her voice has been called by no less of an artist than the flamenco musician Pepe Habichuela as sharp and sweet and with a bite that is similar to older versions. Her debut album Los Angeles garnered attention from the U.S. public and earned the singer an Latin Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and her follow-up album in 2018. El Mal Querer was a major critical and commercial breakthrough making it to the top of the Billboard Latin Pop Albums chart and finally getting an Grammy. La Fama, featuring The Weeknd, was released in 2021. Motomami was her third full-length album. It included collaborations on songwriting with other musicians and producers, such as Cory Henry. The release date was March 20th, 2022 in the wake of the live performance of Chicken Teriyaki by Saturday Night Live. Rosalia is the first Spanish artist to perform alone on the popular program. Along with taking home three more Latin Grammy Awards for Motomami Rosalia, she also became the first woman to win this award twice. Latin Album of the Year twice.
