Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. At the age five she moved to Oxfordshire where she studied at The Dragon School. Emma always had the desire to become an actor since she was six. She was enrolled at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting school which offers classes for part-time students. By the age of ten she was performing and taking as the main character in several Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was cast in the year 1999. Emma was discovered as a casting representative by her Oxford teacher of drama. After eight consecutive auditions, director David Heyman told Emma and fellow applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been cast for the roles of the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first screen appearance took place with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's premiere in the year 2001. It was the year's top production, and it broke records on opening day as well as the first weekend. Reviewers were awed by the performance of the film as well as its story. The widely distributed British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performances admirable. Emma's performance was nominated and later won awards for the movie.
